Dear Ephesus Families,
It is my pleasure to welcome new and returning families to Ephesus Adventist Junior Academy for the 2014-2015 school year! We know you have a choice in where you send your students to school and we are deeply honored that you have chosen to make Ephesus Adventist Junior Academy your school.
This year, we will be focusing on strengthening the wellness and health program sharing with staff and students how healthy living improves the total being, strengthening the physical, spiritual, academic and social development of the mind and body. The day will begin working on fitness as a total school. Upon arrival at school Monday-Thursday beginning at 7:50 A.M.-8:00 A.M., teachers will meet students in the playground area. There will be a designated area on the lower parking lot for students to place their bags. Parents are asked to follow the path of the cones when entering the parking lot. We will be spending the first 10 minutes of the school day stretching and exercising our bodies. However, on Fridays, students are to report directly to the resource room.
Please also note the changes in the dismissal schedule and procedures. School hours will be Monday – Thursday 8:00 A.M. – 3:00 P.M. and Friday 8:00A.M. – 2:00 P.M. All classes will be escorted to the chapel to be dismissed. Classes will be seated in designated areas. A teacher will be on duty at the side door to escort your child/ren to you. Parents may also come in and pick up child/ren. However, there will be the option to remain in your car and have your child escorted to you. Students left pass 3:15 P.M. Monday – Thursday and 2:15 P.M. on Friday will be taken to the office and a $10.00 fee for every 15 minutes late will be applied to tuition.
Fridays, students are to wear their gym uniforms. On Wednesday students are to wear dress uniforms (girls – maroon & grey front jumper or skirt (depending on grade), peter pan collar blouse, burgundy cardigan sweater, white/grey/ or burgundy socks, and dark colored shoes; boys– maroon sweater vest, grey pants with belt, button down collar shirt, burgundy tie, black or grey socks, and dark colored shoes). Dress down day will be every Thursday for a fee of $1.00.
This year we have a school-wide theme. All students are asked to memorize the school’s theme. The theme is posted in the glass bulletin board in the hall and in the classrooms. The school theme is as follows: 1 Corinthians 16:13-14- “Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be men of courage; be strong. Do everything in love.” Take the challenge and try to this memorize this verse by the first day of school!
Please note the revisions in the school calendar and supply list.
Our doors are always open to parents. It is a privilege and pleasure to serve you and your students and we value the responsibility to the highest degree. Thank you for sharing your students with us and please do not hesitate visiting the school.
